Kate Williamson
Kate trained at Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom, graduating with a diploma in dance and musical theatre and various performance and teaching qualifications to her credit. She has worked extensively throughout the UK and abroad as a performer and has directed several pantomimes and theatre productions including two highly successful UK Tours. She has performed alongside Joe Pasquale, Bobby Davro, PP Arnold, Modern Romance, Keith Duffy (Boyzone), and “H” (Steps) in a career spanning 3 decades and in 2020 was nominated for an award for her role in “Peter Pan” at the Epsom Playhouse.
Since 2017 Kate has been teaching singing, drama and musical theatre both privately and peripatetically in several primary schools across South Gloucestershire, taking her passion for music and performance to a new generation. Whether students wish to learn for fun or to take examinations, Kate can provide a suitable level of tuition in a fun, friendly and productive way. She also provides audition coaching and has had pupils achieve roles in West End shows and tours including “School of Rock” and “Les Misérables”
Kate is the co-founder of IGNITE, a small business dedicated to providing performance opportunities to primary school children. IGNITE teaches musical theatre for Annette Adams School of Dancing in Bristol as well as providing bespoke workshops for curriculum enhancement to primary schools during term time, and Mini-Musical Workshops/productions in the school holidays.
Kate is a member of British Actors Equity and the Musicians Union and holds a full enhanced DBS certificate.
