Vocal Tuition
For the past few years Kate has been working as a peripatetic singing teacher at several schools across South Gloucestershire, as well as establishing her own private practice in Bristol.
Sharing her own love of music and theatre with her students, Kate believes that singing can become a lifelong skill and passion for learners of all ages and abilities.
Kate offers the opportunity for students wishing to take examinations in singing through MTB. The Music Teachers’ Board (MTB Exams) provides an exciting new way to take instrumental grades 1 to 8 with exams recorded in audio during the lesson by the teacher, submitted online and marked by specialist examiners.
The assessment model, of recording the exam in audio, is modelled on the GCSE music coursework structure and has been adapted to work with instrumental qualifications. They have moved this form of assessment into the 21st century with the introduction of an app to record and submit the exam.
MTB examinations provide many benefits including:
- MTB exams are less stressful for pupils and teachers
- Complete flexibility over exam dates
- Specialist Examiners
- Convenience with no need to travel
- Lower Costs
- Inspiring, new syllabuses
“Since starting singing lessons my daughter has really improved, especially in her confidence and ability to reach higher notes for longer. She has a better knowledge and understanding of musical notation and specific tips/skills to help her when singing. The lessons are really fun and engaging and she now feels more able to audition and participate in bigger roles during her class assemblies, choir concerts and whole-school productions. Many thanks for all of your help and support so far.” – Parent 2021
